Everyone does know the meaning of being scared but the truth is that everyone to a certain degree loves to be scared. That is the very reason why so many horror films do so brilliant market amidst the people. But a horror film is not what I am here to talk about. What I am talking about are places and houses that have scared the shit out of normal people. I have myself never been to any of such places but the account that I am going to write in this are spoken of and experienced by many people from all over the world. Let’s have on look on top 10 most haunted places in the world.

This is something that came into the news during the 1920’s when many people claimed to have seen things that are not normal on the surface of this earth. The sightings in the Borley Rectory have been accounted by many but none actually could prove the existence of some supernatural being or energy. Rather many skeptic people would rather do good to provide sound physical explanations but some of them still remain a cause that makes the Borley Rectory one of the greatest haunted places on earth.

The reason for everybody being so very much interested about the house is the reason that many people claim that they have had smells of things that are not normal in the region like perfume and burnt butt of a cigar. Even the world famous author, deTraci Regula claims to have had such an experience. But on the other hand, this is not common with everybody. Not everyone gets the smell.

The inhabitants of the house reported that they have seen a fat brown lady descending from the stairs, but what makes things worse is that the lady was not human according to them. The ghost has not been seen for many years now!

This is a place which was once the house of the Myrtles. The plantation was built in the year 1796 by General David Bradford. It is reported that the house does not have a single ghost but rather has around about 12 ghosts living in it. It is story that not 2 – 3, but approximately 10 murders happened in this very house. It is said that the spirits of those murdered still haunt the house looking for vengeance. The house is rated highly among the haunted houses of America.

The statement that psychologically misbalanced people can have contacts with things that are not natural to us can very well be understood by the fact that most of the Penitentiary have had some stories of spirits and all. The Eastern State Penitentiary of Philadelphia is one of the most talked about as the people who went in to check out the solitary confinement part claimed that this was the most evil place that they had ever visited. Although there are no proofs for the claims that they have made, there are also no documents against their statement.

And the most interesting fact about the Tower is that many people think that the tower is a haunted one. According to the local folklore, the tower is supposed to the residing place of Ann Boleyn who was one of the many wives of King Henry VII. The ghost of the Ann has been seen many times carrying her head on the towers.

The Ghost Hunters who have visited the abducted hallways of the Sanatorium have claimed to hear shouts and screams, echoes, apparitions, etc.

The ship sailed the waters of the ocean and was later transformed into a hotel along the coast of California. The ship is said to have suffered from a major fire many people lost their lives and the scary story has started since then. Many people claim to see ghosts of children running around and loud banging noises come from the cabins. The captain’s cabin of the liner is the scariest place on all of the ship.

The house is said to be manifested with the ghosts of the former presidents of the United States. The most commonly sighted ghosts is that of Abraham Lincoln and Andrew Jackson. It has never been reported as that the ghosts have harmed anybody which means that the ghosts are of quite a friendly nature.

Frankly speaking one cannot designate the tag of being haunted only to the castle of Edinburgh. Yes the castle has its own share of ghosts and supernatural things but to add to the whole city of Edinburgh is supposedly taken as haunted. The people report that they see ghosts of a piper, a drummer without a head and prisoner and even dogs.  This is a city where you would never wish to go to.
